The Best Interior Drainage System.

When considering interior basement waterproofing and drainage systems, the choices can become overwhelming.

GrateDrain™ solves the most challenging basement water problems.

What is GrateDrain™?

GrateDrain™ is the industry’s only dual-chambered drain pipe with punched openings on either side to allow more effortless water flow.

What makes GrateDrain™ Better?

GrateDrain™ is the only drainage system specifically designed to acquire groundwater from beneath the basement floor and wall/footing joint, driving it to the sump liner faster than any other drainage pipe.

Isolates iron bacteria; helps separate and isolate the algae and prevent it from cross-contamination and spreading.

Easily accessible access covers allowing for a complete system flush.

How is GrateDrain™ Installed?

It is placed right under the floor in front of the footer.

GrateDrain™ is customizable to fit any basement.

With many benefits backing it up, GrateDrain™ is praised for being a versatile product that is compatible with basements of all sizes.

When we install GrateDrain™ in your home, you’ll get peace of mind, knowing it will keep your basement dry and free from any water-related damage.

The answer lies in simplicity.

Interior waterproofing aims to relieve the hydrostatic pressure and move the water away from the foundation. Let’s take a closer look at what’s out there.

Cove channel drain is the least expensive system, and quite frankly, there is a reason for that; it just doesn’t work. His system sits on top of the floor, allowing the groundwater to enter the basement, then it ideally directs the water to a drain or sump pump.

A corrugated pipe under the floor; This system is a system that works partly but is prone to failure. The pipe is very flexible, making it almost impossible to secure a continuous downward flow to drain correctly. Another issue associated with the corrugated pipe is the openings in the pipe. They are very tiny, causing them to plug up. The very construction of the pipe, the ridges inside, can capture sediment causing the entire pipe to become clogged and promote algae growth. There is no way to warranty this pipe. Companies have gone as far as putting a “filter sock” around the pipe to keep dirt out. How often do you want to break up the floor in your basement to change the dirty filter?

4″ pipe under the floor. This system will work, but you have to be extremely careful that the installers don’t dig too far down; if that happens, you take the chance of undermining the footer, which can cause significant damage to your home. It’s a big gamble to take with your most important investment.

The top of the footer drain pipe. Now here’s one of the best sales pitches on earth! The big companies want you to believe they can remove a small portion of your concrete floor, place a pipe on top of your home’s footer, run this to a sump pump and magically fix your basement. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Let’s break this down: first, they are going to break your 4-inch thick basement floor. They are then proposing to put a pipe at least 2 to 2 ½'” tall, meaning when they cement back over, your basement floor will only be one to two inches thick! Then they will try to convince you that this pipe sitting on your footer will drain the water out of your basement. Considering that your footer is flat and we all know water flows downhill, something has to be done to make this downhill slant, and that is chip away at your footer to facilitate the proper flow. Again chip away your footer?? Are you ready to take that chance?
